Why I love to Paint...
As an Okanagan artist, I have always been captivated by the natural beauty of the area, and find inspiration for my paintings in the rich colours of the landscape and changing seasons.
Art appreciation is a very personal emotion - my goal is to evoke warm feelings in my artwork, and if my paintings do that for people, then I feel I have made a connection.
Techniques
I enjoy watercolour and mixed media techniques, but prefer the versatility and vibrancy of acrylic paints and the use of complementary colours to illustrate the beauty of the Okanagan. I am inspired by local scenery and favourite views of the area, but also enjoy creating my own compositions from photographs and memories of places I have visited.
