The Okanagan - an artists paradise
The Okanagan Landscape
Located in southern British Columbia, Canada - the Okanagan Valley is one of the warmest regions in all of Canada. The Okanagan is comprised of the major centres of Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Osoyoos. During the summer months, you can enjoy many sandy beaches, hot sun, and a variety of outdoor and water activities. Okanagan Lake provides the valley not only with excellent swimming but is also a spectacular backdrop to the golf courses and wineries and popular ski resorts located in the rolling hills of the valley. The Okanagan is considered a premiere wine valley and a tour of the local wineries is a must for anyone visiting the region.
The Okanagan Lake runs 100km from Vernon to Penticton passing through Kelowna around the mid point . The beautiful ribbon of water dominates the landscape carving out the valley with it's steep sides creating bench formations left over from ancient lake levels. The geography provides an ideal environment for grow in fruit - especially wine, and these natural formations are an artists dream providing interesting lines and geometric structures covered with vegetation leading to backdrops formed by the random natural shapes of nature blah blah blah.
